Kanye West releases new song ‘Donda’ to honor late mother on her birthday

Kanye West released a new song Sunday to commemorate his late mother’s birthday.

His mom, Donda, would have turned 71.

The rapper shared the song, titled “Donda,” on Twitter, writing that the tune is in “loving memory of my incredible mother on her birthday.”

“Mama I need you to tuck me in,” West says in the song. “I done made some mistakes and they rubbed it in.”

The verse continues: “I know you and grandma had enough of them. Why I gotta be so stubborn then? I’m doing this one for y’all, so we can end racism once and for all.”

Donda died in 2007 following surgery complications at age 58.

The “Famous” artist shared his new song hours after his wife, Kim Kardashian, tweeted a throwback video showing West rapping his 2005 song “Hey Mama” to Donda.

“Hey Mama” appears on West’s “Late Registration” album.

West, 43, recently claimed he plans to run for president in 2020.
