Kansas State undrafted free agents tracker: Wildcats who signed after 2024 NFL Draft

Kansas State football had three players selected in the 2024 NFL Draft, just one short of a year ago. Conventional wisdom had the ceiling for this year's class at four.

The three K-State players chosen were tight end Ben Sinnott to the Washington Commanders with the No. 53 overall pick in the second round, offensive lineman Cooper Beebe to the Dallas Cowboys in the third round at No. 73, and offensive lineman KT Leveston to the Los Angeles Rams in the seventh round at No. 254.

Any other former Wildcats looking to catch on with an NFL team were left to sign as undrafted free agents, a process that began minutes after the draft ended. It did not take long for defensive end Khalid Duke, who was named on several mock draft boards as a late-round selection, to hook up with the Tennessee Titans.

Khalid Duke, DE, Tennessee Titans

Duke started 34 games during his Kansas State career, including 26 over the past two seasons, first as a linebacker in 2022 and then all 13 at defensive end last year.

As a junior, Duke recorded a career-high 44 tackles at linebacker with three sacks. After moving to end in 2023, he had just 19 tackles, but had career bests of six sacks and eight tackles for loss.

He was most effective as an edge rusher, but some draft experts listed him as a linebacker.

Hayden Gillum, C, Chicago Bears (minicamp)

Gillum, a former walk-on from Plainville, started each of the past two seasons at center for the Wildcats and was a Big 12 all-conference honorable mention pick as a super-senior in 2023. He was not called for a single penalty in 940 offensive snaps.

Gillum, who participated in the Big 12 pro days, was invited to the Bears' upcoming minicamp.

Randen Plattner, LS, Baltimore Ravens

Plattner was one of the nation's top long snappers and played in 62 games over five years, the second most in school history. He was the primary long snapper on field goals/extra points and punts for the final three years of his career and on field goals and extra points his first two.

Plattner was a two-time honorable mention All-American by Phil Steele, and two-time semifinalist for the Patrick Mannelly Long Snapper of the Year award.

Phillip Brooks, WR, Kansas City Chiefs

Brooks left K-State as the school record holder for most career games with 65, including 43 starts. He had a team-high 53 catches for 589 yards and five touchdowns as a super-senior in 2023 and finished fourth in school history in career receptions with 182, seventh in receiving yards (2,127) and tied for seventh with 14 receiving touchdowns.

Brooks also received Big 12 all-conference honors as a kick return specialist. His four career punt return touchdowns ranked second in school history.
