Kansas places Les Miles on administrative leave after LSU harassment allegations surface

Kansas placed football coach Les Miles on administrative leave on Friday after new sexual harassment allegations were revealed against the coach stemming from his time at LSU.

Kansas, athletic director Jeff Long said, will conduct “a full review to determine the appropriate next steps."

“Today, I placed head football coach Les Miles on administrative leave as we conduct a full review to determine the appropriate next steps," Long said in a statement. "We are reviewing the Husch Blackwell report released today by LSU following yesterday’s release of the Taylor Porter report. The past two days have been the first time that we have had access to either report.Even though the allegations against him occurred at LSU, we take these matters very seriously at KU. Now that we have access to this information, we will take the coming days to fully review the material and to see if any additional information is available. I do not want to speculate on a timeline for our review because it is imperative we do our due diligence. We will be able to comment further once our review is complete.”

Report: LSU AD wanted Les Miles fired in 2013

According to a new report on Friday, former LSU athletic director Joe Alleva wanted the school to fire Miles back in 2013 after sexual harassment allegations were made against the coach.

A report was revealed on Friday in a law firm’s report on the school’s handling of the misconduct allegations, which followed other investigations about his behavior toward female students. LSU, however, reportedly opted to keep Miles due to the large buyout they would have had to pay them.

Miles allegedly kissed a female student staff member multiple times and told her that she was attractive in 2013. Miles denied the accusations, and the school then prohibited him from communicating with female students.

Miles was hired at Kansas before the 2019 season.
