Kansas City things to do: Alan Jackson, Kidfest, the Old Spice guy and more

Children can celebrate the end of summer (or the start of school) at Science City’s KidFest this weekend.

Focusing on the science of sound, the event will take place 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Aug. 27 inside and outside the Union Station attraction. Among the activities will be “The Science of Sound,” “Animal Calls and Sounds” and “Colorful Composers.” There also will be face painting, balloon artists, inflatables and entertainment by Dino O’Dell and Mr. Stinky Feet.
