Kansas City Roos men’s basketball drops second straight, this one at Colorado State

KC Roos Athletics

It was the first-ever basketball matchup between the Kansas City Roos and the Colorado State Rams.

The Roos, though, had a hard time keeping up with the Rams and lost 84-61 in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Kansas City had opened up the season with two victories. But after games against stiffer competition in Baylor (on Tuesday night) and Colorado State, the Roos now stand at 2-2 on the season.

Anderson Kopp led the way for Kansas City against the Rams on Friday with 14 points, nine rebounds, six assists and a steal. Allen David Mukeba Jr. added 11 points for the Roos.

Patrick Cartier scored 14 points in his 20 minutes of play for the Rams, who improved to 4-0.

Colorado State kept Kansas City in its rear view for most of the game on the strength of its shooting. The Rams shot 57.8% from the field, compared to the Roos’ 40.4%. Colorado State made 10-22 3-pointers.

Kansas City gets a shot to get one back in the win column with games in the Baha Mar Nassau Hoops tournament in Nassau, Bahamas, over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. The Roos are set for a first-round game against North Carolina Greensboro on Friday in Nassau.
