Kansas City Chiefs vs. Cincinnati Bengals, AFC Championship Game: TV, game time, odds

No team has had more success against the Chiefs over the past two seasons than the Cincinnati Bengals. The teams have met twice in the regular season and in last year’s AFC Championship Game, and the Bengals have won them all.

Cincinnati looks to make it four straight on Sunday in the AFC Championship Game at GEHA FIeld at Arrowhead Stadium.

The title game matchup came about after the Bengals won impressively at Buffalo 27-10 Sunday, a day after the Chiefs beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 27-20 in Divisional Round action.

Patrick Mahomes’ ankle injury suffered on Saturday will be a major story line this week

The three-game streak is the longest by an opponent against the Chiefs in the Patrick Mahomes era. Most exasperating for the Chiefs: They led in the fourth quarter of each game and lost each by a field goal.

The Chiefs were favored in each game.

To Kansas City each game told a different story of meltdown moments. Earlier this year, the game’s biggest moment came with Travis Kelce was stripped of the ball after a 19-yard reception. The Chiefs led by four early in the fourth quarter and were in a good position, but the Bengals scored the game’s final 10 points to win 27-24.

The Chiefs opened a 21-3 lead in last season’s AFC title game before the Bengals forced Mahomes into the worst half of his career. The Bengals won in overtime 27-24.

A month earlier, the Chiefs squandered an 11-point halftime lead and lost 34-31.

The mission for the Chiefs on Sunday — finish.
