Kansas City Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills: Commentary from AFC clash at Arrowhead Stadium

This NFL season has been a little odd when it comes to a pair of familiar foes and AFC contenders.

Sunday’s game, a 20-17 Buffalo Bills win that involved a couple of controversial plays, was no exception.

Even long before Patrick Mahomes was visibly (and vocally) upset with something regarding the officiating after the game.

Let’s talk about those oddities.

The Kansas City Chiefs (8-5) have been led by their defense — not the legendary offense — for much of the year. In fact, after Sunday’s game, the Chiefs have been held to 21 or fewer points eight times in 13 games. They’ve lost four of six overall.

The Bills (7-6), meanwhile, began their season with a loss to the Jets despite Aaron Rodgers’ first-quarter injury. They improved to 4-5 in their last nine games and kept their playoff hopes alive.

This game had just about everything, from a clutch defensive play on a first-half Hail Mary to a sideline flare-up in the second half.

There were the controversial calls, and a (properly called) offsides penalty that wiped away a crazy downfield lateral that went for a touchdown. And, yes, Taylor Swift made an appearance.
