About Baylor (14-2, 3-0):

The Bears are one of the final two teams in the Big 12 with an undefeated conference record. Baylor has begun league play by defeating Oklahoma State, BYU and Cincinnati.

Scott Drew is coaching a mostly new roster this season with freshmen Yves Missi and Ja’Kobe giving the Bears big contributions off the bench. They are at their best on offense and rank first nationally from the 3-point line at 43.7%. Eight different Baylor players shoot better than 40% from deep.

About Kansas State (12-4, 2-1):

The Wildcats are coming off a heartbreaking 60-59 loss against Texas Tech. Jerome Tang struggled to find enough rest for his starters in that game, as they all played at least 33 minutes of action. The Wildcats were missing freshman guard Dai Dai Ames against the Red Raiders. That could change on Tuesday, as Ames is expected to be a game-time decision.

Arthur Kaluma, Cam Carter and Tylor Perry continue to lead K-State in scoring. Dorian Finister is the team’s top contributor off the bench.

Baylor at K-State prediction

When Baylor is shooting well from 3-point range it is capable of beating any team in the country.

But the Bears have off nights just like any other squad, and those tend to happen more often than not when they are playing away from home.

Even though Baylor is ranked in the top 10 with a 14-2 record, it has suffered an 88-64 loss to Michigan State and a 78-70 setback against Duke, with both games coming on neutral courts. The Bears also started conference play by needing overtime to beat Oklahoma State on the road.

This seems like another potential down game for Baylor. It hasn’t played in front of a raucous road crowd this season, which means Bramlage Coliseum could provide a significant home-court advantage for the Wildcats.

K-State is 8-1 in Manhattan this season. Big 12 home teams are off to a 15-6 start in conference play.

Don’t be surprised if those trends continue with a K-State roster that will be motivated to bounce back from a heartbreaking loss in an important home game.
