Tickets are available for the third annual Juneteenth Foodways Festival at the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site, celebrating Black American contributions to U.S. eating habits and culinary practices.
The June 14 event features 35 Black-owned restaurants, caterers and vendors; and honors Dolly Johnson, a Black caterer who was appointed White House chef in 1889 during President Benjamin Harrison’s administration.

There will be first floor tours of the presidential residence as well as access to the president site’s exhibit “Life in the White House,” Dolly Johnson reenactments from Freetown Village and Second Helpings cooking demonstrations recreating some of Johnson’s recipes.

Get tickets for Juneteenth Foodways Festival
The 2024 Juneteenth Foodways Festival will take place 4:30-8 p.m. June 14 at 1230 N. Delaware St., Indianapolis.
General admission is free with tickets. Early access for 3:30-4:30 p.m. is $20. Tickets are available at tinyurl.com/mrxmrm9e.
The Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site is the former home of the 23rd U.S. president.
The recently expanded and restored 10,000 square foot Italianate residence houses nearly 11,000 curated artifacts spanning more than two centuries of American and presidential history.
A National Historic Landmark, the site sees tens of thousands of people annually through guided tours, educational programs, special events and cultural programs.
