June brings Boise Music Festival, Idaho Shakespeare, day for dads. Mark your calendars
Summer is on its way and the spring weather has turned great, so let’s make some plans! It’s almost time to get outside and enjoy what June has to offer.
For starters, Father’s Day is coming up June 18. Take dad to the popular Downtown Boise car show in front of the Idaho State Capitol, which features classic, modern, alternative, vintage and electric vehicles. Or maybe your pops would enjoy a free round of mini-golf at Wahooz Family Fun Zone.
Not only do we celebrate dads this month, but Alive After Five kicks off June 21. We all look forward to our Wednesdays getting better with that much-needed midweek break of after-work beer, tunes and friends on Grove Plaza.
Your social calendar is gonna rock other days of the week as well. Get ready for Tuesdays on the Creek in Caldwell, the Great Garden Escape series on Thursdays at Idaho Botanical Garden, and Bri Kleiner Park Live on select Fridays at Kleiner Memorial Park in Meridian.
Plan for outdoor festivals. Boise Music Festival (June 24) is bringing Ludacris, Jelly Roll, Gary LeVox (lead singer of Rascal Flatts) and more. Families can enjoy the Emmett Cherry Festival (June 14-17) and Meridian Dairy Days (June 21-24). And Jake Owen is headlining this year’s Jackson Country Stomp (June 16) at Ford Idaho Center Amphitheater.
Grab your blankets. Family-friendly outdoor movies start Friday, June 2, during Sparklight Movie Night at Settlers Park in Meridian. Also, Idaho Shakespeare Festival’s “Little Shop of Horrors’” and “As You Like It” have multiple performances in June.
