Julianne Hough Debuts 'Short and Sweet' Hair Transformation—But All Eyes Are on Her Plunging Dress

New year, new hairstyle—that's exactly what Julianne Hough thought after the first week of 2024.

On Monday, Jan. 8, the former Dancing with the Stars pro dancer and current co-host debuted a new 'do via Instagram. "Keeping things short & sweet 😉," she captioned a carousel of photos revealing a micro-bob.

In addition to her fresh cut, Hough rocked a deep-plunging black dress—and the front slit appears to be held together with the help of a sewing-needle-sized rod.

Hough's followers showered the dancer with praise for both her much shorter tresses and her stunning look. "So stylish and cute!!! 😍," one person commented, while another declared, "She went for it and it’s fireeeeee 🔥🔥🔥🔥."

Another Instagram user commented, "OKAY SHORT HAIR !!!!!! 💅🏻💅🏻💅🏻💗."

Meanwhile, yet another person wrote, "I nearly dropped my phone! 🔥❤️ I need another inch off mine. This length is FIRE."

Someone else commented, "Your stylist kills it every time!🙌😍."

One day prior, Hough teased her hair transformation with a video featuring her and hair stylist Riawna Capri.

"Out with the old energy, and in with the new. This was such a funny day - it was raining so hard, but the sun was shining and there was a double rainbow. It made me start to think about the seasons of life, and the decisions we make as we progress," she captioned the clip, which showed her cutting several inches off her own hair.

Hough continued: "Hair is such an outward expression of what those decisions are…of the internal journeys that we go through...It just felt like it was the right time to cut off some of the old energy and start fresh. Thanks for trusting me trusting you that you trust me @riawna & @ninezeroone 😉#donttrythisathome🚫."

Presumably, Capri was the one who chopped off several more inches after Hough's initial trim. But the Grease Live! star's hair-cutting skills weren't too shabby. And the end result looks fabulous on her!
