Will Juan Soto make Yankees a winner again? Here are the latest 2024 World Series odds

The New York Yankees made the move of the offseason so far late Wednesday night when they acquired three-time All-Star & four-time Silver Slugger Juan Soto along with Trent Grisham from the San Diego Padres in exchange for Michael King, Jhony Brito, Randy Vasquez, Drew Thorpe and Kyle Higashioka.

Soto, the 25-year-old and 2020 NL batting champion, will fit into an outfield that now features himself, 2022 AL MVP Aaron Judge and Alex Verdugo, who was recently traded to the Bronx from the Boston Red Sox.

Yankees' 2024 World Series odds skyrocket

After the big move at MLB's Winter Meetings in Nashville, Tennessee, the Yankees now have the third shortest consensus odds at +850 to win the 2024 World Series. The only teams ahead of them are the Atlanta Braves at +650 and Los Angeles Dodgers at 7/1 (+700).

Prior to the Soto deal, the Bronx Bombers were just outside the top-five of World Series favorites at 12/1 (+1200) on FanDuel Sportsbook to win their first Fall Classic in 15 years. Some sportsbooks reportedly even had them all the way down at 16/1 (+1600) at one point in time.

With the acquisitions of Soto, Grisham and Verdugo plus more likely to come, it's clear the Yankees' front office and GM Brian Cashman are going all-in for 2024 after having their fewest wins (82) in a 162-game season since 1995 when they finished 79-65-1.

As of Dec. 7, Caesars Sportsbook and BetMGM have the shortest odds for the Yankees to win their 28th championship in franchise history at 8/1 (+800).

However, where you can find the best value and deal right now in New Jersey is on bet365 where they have the Yanks at 10/1 (+1000) or BetRivers, where even after the Soto trade they still have the Bronx Bombers with the longest odds of any major sportsbook at 12/1 (+1200).
