Jordan Peele's new movie has been pulled from Universal's 2024 release calendar.

The Oscar-winning director's fourth film is no longer set for a Christmas 2024 release, following the recent WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Universal has yet to officially announce the news of the movie's delay. Details of the film have so far been kept under wraps, as is tradition for Peele's projects when in their early stages.

Peele has made a name for himself in the horror genre. He previously directed 2017 blockbuster Get Out, starring Black Panther's Daniel Kaluuya — which received critical acclaim.

He then went on to direct 2019 psychological horror Us, with Lupita Nyong'o and The Handmaid's Tale star Elisabeth Moss, before his most recent release in 2022 with sci-fi horror Nope — which saw Peele team up with Kaluuya for a second time.

The filmmaker recently joined forces with Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima to announce a brand new Xbox game. The pair appeared on stage together at The Game Awards earlier this month to reveal their collaboration on the title.

"[I'm] a huge fan of Hideo, this man is an icon," said Peele. "I can say from the first moment I played Metal Gear Solid 2 I knew I was experiencing the work of an artist whose craft just hits different. He's been an inspiration to me, and the opportunity to collaborate with him is just incredible.

"What he's cooking up here is completely immersive [and] utterly terrifying... what this man is building here is unlike any other game, it's crazy."

After an announcement video, which featured Euphoria's Hunter Schafer and Iron Sky's Udo Kier, Kojima revealed that Peele is only one of the collaborators from the world of film who is working on the exciting project.
