John Daly and his son, John Daly II, have signed an NIL deal with Hooters. They’ll be asked to promote the restaurant franchise via social media and through marketing events and activities.

Daly’s son is currently a freshman at Arkansas. His popularity increased after he won the 2021 PNC Challenge with his father.

Though it shouldn’t be a surprise, this father-son duo is ecstatic about its partnership with Hooters.

“I have seen my father’s great relationship with Hooters over the years, and I am proud to continue my family’s association with this iconic brand,” John Daly II said.

As for the sports world, it sounds like most fans are on board with this NIL deal.

“Perhaps the biggest no brainer endorsement deal I’ve ever seen,” one fan said.

“Don’t think there’s a more perfect partnership,” a second fan tweeted.

“This is what NIL is supposed to be,” another fan wrote. “Players want to make their millions, great. Fine. Happy they’re getting their share. But give me obscure, hilarious sponsorships of non-mainstream athletes to balance it and I’m all in.”

Bruce Skala, Hooters of America senior vice president of marketing, had nothing but positive things to say about the Daly family in a statement.

“John’s larger-than-life personality makes him an ideal representative of Hooters’ fun-loving spirit, while Little John will promote our brand to the next generation as one of the next big names in golf,” Skala said. “We are ecstatic to have the Dalys, fantastic golfers and great personalities, on board as spokespeople for Hooters, the definitive 19th hole.”

This NIL era continues to open up new opportunities for student-athletes.
