Joe Rogan says he’s declined having Trump on his podcast: ‘I don’t want to help him’

Joe Rogan says he doesn’t want to experience an interview with Donald Trump.

Rogan turned down the opportunity to have the former president on his podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience,” multiple times, he claimed on Monday’s episode of Lex Fridman’s podcast.

“I’m not a Trump supporter in any way, shape or form,” Rogan said. “I’ve had the opportunity to have him on my show more than once. I’ve said no every time. I don’t want to help him.”

Rogan also told Fridman that he expects Trump to run for president again.

“He’s running against a dead man,” Rogan said. “Biden shakes hands with people that aren’t even there when he gets offstage. I think he’s seeing ghosts.”

The 54-year-old Rogan, whose show was the No. 1 podcast on Spotify in 2021, was at the center of controversy earlier this year after rock star Neil Young removed his songs from the music streaming service to boycott misinformation about COVID-19 on the platform.

Young alluded to Rogan in a January letter to his team regarding the decision, according to Rolling Stone.

Rogan said at the time that he didn’t want to spread misinformation.

“I’m interested in telling the truth, I’m interested in finding out what the truth is, and I’m interested in having interesting conversations with people that have differing opinions,” Rogan said in an Instagram video. “I’m not interested in only talking to people that have one perspective.”

Spotify CEO Daniel Ek reportedly said during an earnings call that his company doesn’t “change our policies based on one creator nor do we change it based on any media cycle or call from anyone else.”
