Former LSU football quarterback Joe Burrow will miss the remainder of the 2023 NFL season after tearing a ligament in his wrist during a 34-20 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, Bengals coach Zac Taylor announced on Friday.

The injury occurred during second quarter of the' Bengals' Thursday Night Football" game with the Ravens, as Ravens defender Jadeveon Clowney took down Burrow seconds after the quarterback got rid of the football. Burrow tried to play through the pain on the next play, throwing a touchdown to Joe Mixon while writhing in pain afterward.

After the news of his season-ending injury broke, Burrow told reporters he felt a pop in his right wrist during the touchdown throw and had a feeling that his season could be over in that moment.
