Joe Burrow wrist injury: Latest updates, information after ex-LSU QB's season ends
Former LSU football quarterback Joe Burrow will miss the remainder of the 2023 NFL season after tearing a ligament in his wrist during a 34-20 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, Bengals coach Zac Taylor announced on Friday.
The injury occurred during second quarter of the' Bengals' Thursday Night Football" game with the Ravens, as Ravens defender Jadeveon Clowney took down Burrow seconds after the quarterback got rid of the football. Burrow tried to play through the pain on the next play, throwing a touchdown to Joe Mixon while writhing in pain afterward.

After the news of his season-ending injury broke, Burrow told reporters he felt a pop in his right wrist during the touchdown throw and had a feeling that his season could be over in that moment.

Burrow was seen struggling to throw the ball without cringing at the pain. On Friday, the Bengals announced Burrow will miss the remainder of the season with a torn ligament in his wrist.

Joe Burrow was injured during the second quarter of the Bengals 34-20 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on "Thursday Night Football" on Nov. 16. Defensive lineman Jadeveon Clowney took down Burrow seconds after Burrow threw the ball out of the pocket, and the pressure forced Burrow to fall on his wrist.
After the game, one Ravens player reportedly said they heard Burrow say, "I heard a pop," after the hit by Clowney.

Who is Joe Burrow's backup quarterback?
Former University of Washington quarterback Jake Browning is next on the quarterback depth chart for the Cincinnati Bengals behind Joe Burrow.
Browning took over against Baltimore in the second half and completed eight of his 14 passes for 68 passing yards, including a touchdown to Ja'Marr Chase in the dying minutes of the 'Thursday Night Football' matchup. Browning went undrafted in 2019 and played his first minutes in the NFL with the Bengals this season.
