Offensive line woes vexxed the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI, so Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow apparently went on a recruiting trip to help fix the issue.

According to NFL insider Albert Breer, Burrow had former Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman La’el Collins over at his house this past Friday night before Collins signed with the Bengals. But Collins wasn’t the only one who came over.

Ted Karras, Alex Cappa and Hayden Hurst – the other three players that the Bengals recently signed – were all at his house as well. The three newly-minted Bengals all brought their significant others with them as well.

Bengals fans were overjoyed at what a “great deal closer” their quarterback proved to be. And while there were plenty of jokes made at Burrow’s expense, fans of Burrow have now dubbed him “The Closer”:

Joe Burrow was sacked a league-high 51 times in the regular season and another 19 times in four postseason games. His inability to stay upright in Super Bowl LVI contributed mightily to their loss.

The Bengals promptly made fixing the offensive line an offseason priority and have invested significant money into the unit.

La’el Collins represents the biggest investment the Bengals are making though. He’s a versatile player who can play at almost any o-line position at a high level.

Will Joe Burrow and the Bengals cut down on the sacks in 2022?
