In need of a spring refresh? A new rug is a great place to start. Trouble is a rug is no small purchase, and higher-end options can quickly add up to the thousands of dollars. Those shopping on a budget are in luck, as Joanna Gaines has just debuted a rug collection, so you can snag some new threads at a price point that will keep the stress off your wallet.
The new line is a collaboration between Loloi Rugs and Magnolia Home, Gaines’s ever-popular furniture and decor shop. The two brands have collaborated for years, with their most recent product offerings debuting in spring 2023. So what makes this time around so different? “We’ve really leaned into brown tones, which is a bit of a departure from our usual black accents,” the Fixer Upper star tells ELLE DECOR. “The change brings such warmth and coziness to the rugs.”
Like many of the Loloi x Magnolia rugs, this latest collection is heavy on vintage motifs, most notably in the Mona and Gigi offerings, which feature elegant medallion and floral designs, respectively. Stripes are also a big theme, particularly in the Charlie rug, an indoor-outdoor option made from 100 percent recycled polyester.
The goal of the collection is, as ever, timelessness, as Gaines notes: “A new rug is an investment.” The latest Loloi designs may already have found a new home in her own space. “The stripes in the Nico collection would fit seamlessly in my boys’ room, while the feminine Gigi collection would be perfect for the girls,” she says. “It’s the classic patterns that make them all favorites.”
