Jimmy Carter reveals new goal amid hospice care
As his 100th birthday approaches, former President Jimmy Carter revealed that his milestone birthday is secondary to being able to vote for Democrat Kamala Harris against RepublicanDonald Trump in November’s 2024 presidential election.
According to a report published Saturday by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Carter told his son Chip this week, according to his grandson Jason Carter, “I’m only trying to make it to vote for Kamala Harris.”
Carter turns 100 on Oct. 1. The former president entered hospice care in February 2023.
Jason Carter also told the AJC that his grandfather has been “more alert and interested in politics and the war in Gaza” recently.
Carter has lived longer than any other U.S. president in history and has been in hospice since early 2023.
The former president’s birthday is Oct. 1.
