JetBlue adds another Florida airport to destinations. 11 things to know about the airline
Air travel to and from Florida continues to expand, with another JetBlue destination arriving early in 2024.
The New York-based, lower-cost airline "will provide daily, nonstop service between TLH (Tallahassee) and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL)," according to a news release.
Flights will begin at Tallahassee International Airport on Jan. 4, with the first inbound flight scheduled to land at 9:40 a.m. the city announced.
The airline describes itself as "a national, customer-centric, low-fare alternative to the dominant 'Big Four' airlines."

Even More Space: This seating option gives passengers up to 7 inches more leg room. You'll also get the fast lane at security checkpoints at select airports. Selecting this option provides early boarding and, if in the first few rows, you can be among the first off the plane. Even More Space passengers get a free carry-on bag.
What you should know: JetBlue fares, carry-on bags and personal items
A personal item such as a purse, small backpack, briefcase, laptop must be able to fit under the seat in front of you.
Domestic flights: You can check two bags with overall dimensions of 60 inches or 50 pounds. There is a charge for bags that exceed those criteria. A third bag will cost $150.

Does JetBlue offer military discounts?
Yes. The airline offers special discounts and fares, airport assistance and other services for veterans and active military and their families.
Those enrolled in the company's Veterans Advantage program receive a 5 percent discount to more than 100 destinations, and two checked bags up to 50 pounds at no additional costs.
JetBlue will waive its $25 service fee when you book a flight as a Veterans Advantage member.
There are no blackout dates.
Can you bring a pet with JetBlue's Blue Basic fare?
Yes. A pet is allowed, space permitting. Since Blue Basic does not allow a carry-on bag, you will need to limit what you bring on board to your approved pet carrier and a personal item.
JetBlue charges service fee, but you can avoid it
JetBlue charges a $25 nonrefundable fee per person on the reservation when you change, cancel, or complete a new booking over the phone or through chat.
