Jessie J rushed to hospital on Christmas Eve after being diagnosed with Meniere’s disease

Jessie J was taken to the hospital on Christmas Eve after being diagnosed with Meniere’s disease, a rare disorder that affects balance and hearing, she revealed in an emotional Instagram post.

The British singer said she woke up Thursday feeling like she suddenly couldn’t hear anything or even walk properly.

“I felt like I was completely deaf in my right ear, couldn’t walk a straight line,” she told her followers in an Instagram video.

The 32-year-old musician, born Jessica Ellen Cornish, said she ended up in the ear hospital but was released the same night and is already feeling better.

“It just threw me off,” she said.

The “Price Tag” and “Bang Bang” singer later shared a list of her activities on Christmas Eve, which included dying her eyebrows, covering herself in coconut oil and having a “big cry.”

“I am now watching Queens Gambit with my finger in my ear,” she wrote. “I’ve done the first episode 4 times because I (have) zero focus and my ear sounds like someone crawled in and turned a hair dryer on.”

Meniere’s disease is typically characterized by “sudden episodes of extreme dizziness,” or vertigo, a roaring sound in the ears and a feeling of pressure in the ears, according to the U.S. National Library of Medicine.

Episodes associated with Meniere’s disease generally last several hours and are triggered by stress, tiredness, emotional upset, illness and dietary factors. The timing of these episodes is unpredictable, with some patients going months or years without any symptoms.

Jessie J even sang a few songs during her Instagram live video, but she said it felt “weird” singing with a finger in her right ear.

“It could be way worse. It is what it is,” she said. “I’m super grateful for my health.”
