Jessica Simpson Dazzles in Sheer Beaded Dress for Red Carpet Appearance

Jessica Simpson is stepping into her "icon era," and based on her latest stunning look, she's prepared for all the glitz and glamour that comes along with the esteemed title!
The designer walked the red carpet for the 37th Annual Footwear News Achievement Awards held at Cipriani South Street in New York City on Wednesday night, Nov. 29, where she was honored with this year's Icon Award.
For the fashionable event, Simpson dazzled in a sheer beaded and bedazzled gown that sparkled from every angle. The sleeveless ensemble featured a high mock neck with eye-catching jewels throughout. She paired the look with metallic silver platform heels and a few large rings. While strutting inside the venue, she initially wore a see-through feathery white cropped jacket, which she removed for her photo session.

At the ceremony, The Dukes of Hazzard actress took the stage to accept the distinction, for helming "one of fashion’s longest-running success stories"—her billion-dollar eponymous brand, which spans 51 categories including clothing, shoes, accessories, beauty and more.

"Her special blend of on-trend, accessible style has resonated with consumers of all ages since she founded her brand with mom, Tina, in 2005," Footwear News said of Simpson in a press release ahead of the event.
Tina also accompanied her daughter for the outing, donning an all black glitzy sequin jumpsuit along with a standout Western-style waist belt and a blazer.

Of the award, Simpson noted, “I am honored that my spirit has connected with people who need it in ways that are obvious and ways that are more subliminal,” in a statement to People. “The fact that Footwear News is bestowing that title on this gal from Texas helps to illuminate the path ahead.”
The former reality star also commented on her "icon" status in a feature with the publication, where she explained what it meant to her. “An icon is someone who is not afraid to take risks. And often, their choices don’t make sense in the immediate, but they’re part of an enlightened understanding of the big picture. It’s someone who transcends a particular time or place and defines a moment.”
