Jerry Stackhouse given technical foul in Vanderbilt basketball vs. LSU

Jerry Stackhouse was given a technical foul during Vanderbilt basketball's game at LSU on Tuesday night at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

Stackhouse was issued the technical after getting animated and yelling at the officials. Vanderbilt lost to LSU 77-69.

This was the second such technical he has been issued this season, as he was also given one during the Commodores' game at Memphis. It was not immediately clear what Stackhouse was protesting, as Vanderbilt (5-9, 0-1 SEC) had the ball at the time after forcing a missed layup and getting the rebound.

"I just thought it was a poorly officiated game," Stackhouse said on postgame radio. "Two minutes in the game, the way we drive, the way we go to the basket, they only have two fouls on the board and then they just tried to call it a few touch fouls that do balance it out. A lot of illegal screens during the course of the game that went unnoticed. It's like, touch fouls on us, and then they're telling me that they want to let them play. Those add up."

Former Vanderbilt player Jordan Wright attempted the free throws off the technical and made both. Wright, a Baton Rouge native, transferred from the Commodores to the Tigers in the offseason.

LSU (9-5, 1-0) led, 39-32, at the time of the technical.

Stackhouse's job security in question after a poor start to the season. Vanderbilt has already lost to Presbyterian, Boston College and Western Carolina, though it does have close losses to Memphis and Alabama.
