Jennifer Lopez’s new movie Unstoppable has ceased production, due to the impact of the Writer’s Guild of America strikes.

The Marry Me star is set to star alongside Jharrel Jerome in a wrestling drama, based on the story of 3 time All-American wrestler Anthony Robles, who was born with one leg.

It has been reported that the cast were two weeks into filming the upcoming film when they were forced to shut down on Wednesday as picketers were out in protest at USC.

Now, the Amazon project led by Argo editor Billy Goldenberg has been suspended altogether while the strikes are resolved, and delayed indefinitely - for now at least.

It comes after Ben Affleck, who is funding the film with his company Artist Equity, which he co-founded with long-term collaborator Matt Damon, spoke out about his delight at the opportunity to work with his wife.

Ben told CBS Sunday Morning: "What fun, what a joy to do something with her, see her be great, go to work with your wife, go to work with your best friend."

He added: "Because ultimately, like, your work becomes the lion’s share of what defines your life, in terms of the time you spend… [if] you love the people at work, you probably have a pretty good life, you know?"

This will be the second film Artists Equity has delivered in partnership with Amazon, after their sports-drama Air, which told the inspired story of Nike signing Michael Jordan for their basketball shoe line.

Unstoppable is the latest movie to be impacted by the WGA strikes, which have halted production on Marvel’s Thunderbolts, Keanu Reeves-led feature, Good Fortune, alongside hit TV shows such as Daredevil: Born Again, Uncoupled and Big Brother USA.
