Jennifer Lopez Exudes Elegance in Silver Sheer Look With Ample Cutouts at the 2024 Met Gala

Jennifer Lopez dazzled fans with a glamorous display upon her arrival at the 2024 Met Gala.

The “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” singer stepped onto the red carpet wearing a silver gown with ample sheer cutouts. She matched the look with coordinating heels offering a peek at her toes, and a statement necklace. Meanwhile, the train of J.Lo's gown formed an ornate circle on the ground around her.

Lopez arrived at this year’s Met Gala solo without her husband, actor Ben Affleck. But she radiated confidence and exuded elegance as she made her way to the fundraiser event.

The “Jenny From the Block” singer’s fashion choice appeared to have been coordinated to reflect this year’s event theme, “The Garden of Time.” Event organizers revealed in a February press release that the theme would be a nod to The Costume Institute’s spring exhibition, which has been dubbed “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.”

Previously teasing that the look was going to be "exciting," she also told GMA's Lara Spencer that she'd "barely" be able to walk in the ensemble, noting, "The Met Gala looks are not about comfort."

"It’s always a nice time there. It’s such an interesting mix of artists and business people. It’s not just music or film, it’s everybody—fashion, film, music, business—and you get to have some really interesting interactions," she continued.

Lopez’s red carpet look marked a sharp contrast to the “On the Floor” singer’s 2023 Met Gala outfit, which featured an elegant blush pink skirt and wrapped black top. The pop star’s top turned heads by featuring large cutouts and tails that flowed several feet behind her. Lopez had also worn a delicate black veil and long black gloves that stretched past her elbows.

This year, the 54-year-old hitmaker is one of the Costume Institute Benefit’s co-chairs. Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth, Anna Wintour and Zendaya are also co-chairing this year’s Met Gala.
