  • Jennifer Lawrence donned a cute cropped T-shirt for a weekend outing in NYC, and her abs were seriously toned.

  • The actress, 31, gave birth to her first baby this year, but that hasn't slowed her down one bit.

  • For the movie Red Sparrow, J.Law was putting in three hour workouts six days a week with her personal trainer. Phew!

When you’re a new mom, you’ve got plenty of places to be and things to do—and Jennifer Lawrence is no exception. J.Law was just spotted out and about in New York’s West Village this past week looking super busy, and she brought her strong abs out to play for the day.

The 31-year-old, who gave birth to her first child back in February, was working some trendy wide-legged jeans and a cropped black tee that showed off her toned abs as she made her way around the city. She accessorized her look with a reusable water bottle and small umbrella (want), because it’s hot out there, guys.

J.Law’s trainer, Dalton Wong, told Byrdie that he’s big on giving people like J.Law what they can handle—but not too much. “I don’t like to ruin my clients,” he said. “I want you to leave here and still have the energy to be able to get on with your day.”

Jennifer doesn’t talk a ton about her workout routine, but professional dance coach Kurt Froman told Body and Soul that the two trained hard for her role as an ex-ballerina-turned-spy in Red Sparrow. "I worked with Jen six days a week, three hours a day for three months, as well as doing cross training in the form of Pilates, or toning and weight-training, or gyrotonics," he said.

Jennifer later told Vanity Fair that she had a “meltdown” over her eating plan for the role, which included lean meats like chicken breast and having banana chips for a snack. "I can't work on a diet. I'm hungry. I'm standing on my feet. I need more energy," she said. “Dieting is just not in the cards for me.”

Food is big for J.Law, JIC you didn’t get that. “I don’t like when people say, ‘I only do this or eat this,’” she told Vogue. “Because I eat. I’m not very strict with my diet: If I want a piece of pizza, I eat a piece of pizza.”

That, she said, kinda fuels her drive to exercise. “For me, it’s easier to put that extra effort into the gym instead of putting the extra effort into: ‘Oh no, I can’t eat that.’”

Jennifer has been mysterious about her baby to the point where she hasn’t even revealed whether she gave birth a boy or girl—and that’s by design. “...Every instinct in my body wants to protect their privacy for the rest of their lives, as much as I can,” she told Vanity Fair before welcoming her baby.

“I don’t want anyone to feel welcome into their existence. And I feel like that just starts with not including them in this part of my work," she added.

Keep crushing it, Jennifer!
