The Jennifer Hudson Show Delays Start of New Season Amid WGA Strike
The Jennifer Hudson Show is the latest daytime series to pause production.
The talk show hosted by EGOT winner Jennifer Hudson was slated to launch its second season this Monday, Sept. 18, but the series has decided to delay its premiere, TVLine has confirmed. A source close to production says that “after much discussion, and at Jennifer’s urging, The Jennifer Hudson Show is pausing production and its Season 2 premiere.”

Hudson’s talk show now joins The Talk and The Drew Barrymore Show, both of which postponed their premieres on Sunday after initially setting Monday as their return date. Despite daytime TV’s mass premiere reversals, Karamo will move forward with its Monday premiere, TVLine has confirmed.
Drew Barrymore was the first to announce her show’s premiere reversal after receiving notable backlash from Hollywood writers who accused her of crossing their picket line. “I have listened to everyone, and I am making the decision to pause the show’s premiere until the strike is over,” she wrote in a statement on Sunday. “I have no words to express my deepest apologies to anyone I have hurt and, of course, to our incredible team who works on the show and has made it what it is today. We really tried to find our way forward. And I truly hope for a resolution for the entire industry very soon.”
The Talk quickly followed suit. “The Talk is pausing its season premiere,” a network spokesperson said in a statement. “We will continue to evaluate plans for a new launch date.”
