Death of a Unicorn, starring Wednesday's Jenna Ortega and Ant-Man's Paul Rudd, has added a whole new list of stars to its cast.

A24's upcoming film follows a father and daughter (Rudd and Ortega) who accidentally run over a unicorn while driving to a weekend retreat.

The action-comedy — which is the directorial debut of Alex Scharfman — has recently wrapped production and has now announced the stars joining the project, according to Deadline.

Richard E Grant will take on the role of Rudd's billionaire boss, who hopes to exploit the dead unicorn's magical properties. Guardians of the Galaxy's Will Poulter, Flirting with Disaster star Téa Leoni, Barry's Anthony Carrigan, Asteroid City's Stephen Park, Sunita Mani and Jessica Hynes all join the star-studded ensemble.

Death of a Unicorn was able to continue filming during the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike as a result of the union's approval of interim agreements for several independent films that don't involve studios or streaming services.

Ortega has been busy on a number of major upcoming projects recently. The second season of the hit Netflix series Wednesday is currently in the works and she was filming the long-awaited Beetlejuice sequel with Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder before production was paused by the strike.

You can also catch Ortega on screens this month (November, 2023) in her new movie Finestkind. The crime thriller is produced by Yellowstone's Taylor Sheridan and stars Emancipation's Ben Foster and Neighbours' Toby Wallace.

The actress recently revealed that she almost dyed her hair blonde after struggling to find roles that embraced her Hispanic heritage.

"A lot of the jobs that I was going for growing up would never work out, because I didn't look [a certain] way," she told Harpers Bazaar UK, adding: "I wanted to dye my hair blonde so that I would look like Cinderella".

Death of a Unicorn doesn't have a release date yet. Wednesday is streaming on Netflix now.
