Jenna Ortega traded in her signature Wednesday-core style tonight, for an unexpected look on the Emmys red carpet.

For the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony, the Netflix star arrived at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles looking like a princess in a delicate Dior haute couture ensemble. The outfit consisted of a nude transparent strapless ball gown covered in delicate pink and green floral appliqué. To coordinate, she wore bedazzled nude pumps and a diamond-encrusted necklace.

Ortega has been nominated in the category of Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Wednesday Addams in Netflix’s Addams Family spin-off dramedy Wednesday. It marks her first-ever Emmy nomination. Other nominees in her category include Christina Applegate, Rachel Brosnahan, Quinta Brunson, and Natasha Lyonne.

In an interview with Bazaar last year, Ortega opened up about making the iconic Addams family character her own.

“I realized that I did have to include some aspects or qualities that Christina [Ricci]'s Wednesday had to kind of keep in the older group. But then I also had to add my own,” she said. “Especially since we've never spent so much time with Wednesday. Maybe she is socially awkward. Maybe she does carry herself physically differently and has different mannerisms. You know, it was little things like that that made her different enough, but still familiar so that older audiences still felt engaged and like they recognized this character.”

Tonight's show follows a four month-long postponement due to the simultaneous actors' and writers's strike in Hollywood, which shut down productions of nearly all TV and film projects. Consequently, the historic work stoppage delayed the annual television awards ceremony, which was originally slated to take place last September.
