Jenna Ortega Has the Best Seat Assignment for the 2023 Emmys

Actress Jenna Ortega attends the world premiere screening of "Miller's Girl" at the 35th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival at Mary Pickford Theater on Jan. 11, 2024 in Cathedral City, Calif.

On Monday, Jan. 15, the 75th annual Primetime Emmy Awards will kick off at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, Calif.—and thanks to a sneak peek of the seating situation, it looks like Jenna Ortega will have one of the best seats in the house.

The awards show was originally set for Sept. 18, 2023, but was re-scheduled because of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. For Ortega, the postponement will be well worth the wait, as she will be seated near Selena Gomez. The talented actresses both got their start with Disney, and have been photographed together on multiple occasions throughout the years.

Ahead of the 2023 Emmy Awards, The Hollywood Reporter posted a clip of seats labeled with celebs' names via X. The clip pans across the seats, revealing that Gomez will be situated one row behind Ortega (who gets front-row honors this year) and slightly to the left. Meanwhile, one row behind Ortega and to the right will be Everything Everywhere All at Once actor Ke Huy Quan.

A few seats to Gomez's right is Carol Burnett, who is seated in front of Amy Poehler, Tina Fey and Jon Hamm. And seated to Gomez's left in the front row is Jason Sudekis.

Ortega is up for an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Wednesday Addams in Netflix's Wednesday. She will also serve as a presenter for the awards show.

Meanwhile, Gomez is up for an Emmy in the Outstanding Comedy Series category as the executive producer for Only Murders in the Building.

Seating arrangements aside, hopefully this awards show will result in slightly less drama for Gomez—unlike rumors that resulted after she whispered something in Taylor Swift's ear at the Golden Globes. And, fingers crossed, fans will get another photo of Gomez and Ortega on the red carpet!

The 2023 Emmy Awards kick off on Monday, Jan. 15, at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
