Jenna Johnson and Val Chmerkovskiy Celebrate Mother's Day with Son Rome, Call Him 'The Greatest Gift'

The 'Dancing with the Stars' cast members shared a glimpse at their Mother's Day celebrations on Sunday

Val Chmerkovskiy is showering Jenna Johnson with Mother's Day celebrations!

The Dancing with the Stars couple celebrated their second Mother’s Day as parents on Sunday, May 12, with their son, Rome Valentin, 16 months.

Chmerkovskiy, 38, shared a series of photos of Johnson, 29, many of them featuring himself and Rome to celebrate Mother’s Day.

In the dancer's Instagram post, he included photos of his wife posing as she held her baby bump back when she was pregnant in 2022, cradling Rome in her arms on multiple occasions, posing with the baby and Chmerkovskiy in front of an airplane, brushing the 16-month-old's teeth and also smiling for the camera in a candid photo.

"Shoutout to my babymama!" he wrote in the caption. "Made me the happiest man in the world. Gave me the greatest gift, my little man @rome.valentin and continues to hold our family down!"

"I love you ❤️ #mothersday," he added.

In her own Instagram post on Sunday, Johnson celebrated Mother's Day with a heartfelt caption about her love for her son, alongside a video of Rome laughing from a high chair as she made silly faces for him.

"Motherhood. For me it has been 16 months of endless learning, full of adventure watching my little one grow/discover the world around him, loving an amount I didn’t know I was capable of, and filled with lots of tears," she began her caption.

"Happy tears, sad tears, scared tears, overwhelmed tears. Honestly just an abundance of crying comes with the role of 'Mama.' Its been absolutely beautiful, messy, exhilarating, and every second being this boy’s Mom has truly been the happiest time in my life," she continued. "I've been lucky enough to have INCREDIBLE role models surround me as Mom’s and for that I am forever grateful. Happy Mother’s Day to all 💘."

On Jan. 10, 2023, the couple welcomed their first child after tying the knot in April 2019. At the time of Rome’s birth, the couple shared the big news in a joint Instagram post, which showed Johnson and Chmerkovskiy holding their baby boy's tiny hand.

Ahead of Mother’s Day, Johnson shared a sweet set of photos with Rome on Thursday, May 9. The photos included the mother and son cuddling in their backyard basking in the sunshine.

“My sunshine ☀️🩵🥹🥰😚♾️,” she captioned the post.

The month prior, when Rome celebrated 15 months, Johnson shared a adorable heartfelt message to her son via Instagram. In the post, she shared with followers a peek into her son’s personality, noting how her their “little sweetheart,” “LOVES music,” is “very active,” and has an “incredibly strong personality 😳.”

The entire caption read: “Our little sweetheart so far… -LOVES music. We will find him dancing and/or singing whenever there is music playing. -He is very aware of his surroundings. He will sit in silence and just observe, which is one of my favorite things to witness. -His favorite word is Papa. -He is very active and keeps us on our toes. Loves playing at the park, chaising the dogs around the house, and runs a 5k marathon in his walker daily. -He has an incredibly strong personality 😳 He is stubborn yet sensitive. He knows exactly what he wants and what he doesn’t and will let you know. -He is the snuggliest baby… just like his parents :) Loves hugs, kisses, and lots of cuddles. Can’t believe we get to raise this boy and receive his love daily!”
