The usual suspects are front and center. Bernard Arnault has retained his place atop Forbes’ World’s Billionaires list — and the list is littered with familiar names like Musk, Bezos, Zuckerberg, Gates and Buffett.

Just shy of the top 14 are the 15th and 16th richest people in the world: L’Oréal heiress Francoise Bettencourt Meyers (the wealthiest woman at No. 16), and Michael Dell, CEO of Dell Technologies, at No. 15. Both hold net worths of more than $90 billion.

Forbes’ Real-Time Billionaires list is always changing (Elon Musk has dropped a spot to No. 3; Michael Dell jumped one spot to No. 15 as of late), but here are the 14 mega-billionaires and their net worth — collectively worth $2 trillion — as of Apr. 9.

  • Source of Wealth: Facebook

With the prospect of fighting Elon Musk in a cage behind him, Zuckerberg can get down to what he does best: making money. Zuck has never been richer, thanks to a tripling of Meta Platform Inc. shares over the last year and a hot start to 2024.

  • Source of Wealth: Oracle

Although not CEO anymore, “Ellison is still chairman, CTO and its largest shareholder, with 40% of the company,” according to Forbes. Ellison holds about 15 million share of Tesla and owns almost all of Lanai, the Hawaiian island he bought for $300 million in 2012.

6. Warren Buffett

  • Source of Wealth: Berkshire Hathaway

  • Net Worth: $129.9 billion

  • Source of Wealth: Google

Page and his founding partner of Google, Sergey Brin, removed themselves from daily operations in 2019, but remain the company’s top shareholders. According to Inc.com, in “the ultimate ‘I’ve arrived’ statement,” Page owns at least five private islands.

13. Michael Bloomberg

The former three-time mayor of New York — and Democratic presidential candidate — co-founded his Bloomberg LP media company in 1981 and currently owns 88% of the business, according to Forbes. A generous philanthropist, Bloomberg intends on transferring his Bloomberg LP stake to Bloomberg Philanthropies upon his passing, if not sooner.

14. Carlos Slim Helú

  • Net Worth: $104.5 billion

  • Source of Wealth: América Móvil Telecom
