Good morning, Cincinnati. This is Haley BeMiller with The Enquirer’s statehouse bureau.
Former President Donald Trump will be in town Wednesday for a fundraiser with Sen. J.D. Vance. This comes as speculation swirls over Vance’s VP prospects, less than two years after Ohio elected him to the U.S. Senate.
How did we get here? After all, this is the guy who once suggested Trump could be “America’s Hitler.” But Vance has surged in MAGA world since Trump endorsed him for Senate in 2022. Now, he’s a top Trump ally and even appeared in New York yesterday ahead of the former president’s court appearance.
