Jaylen Waddle injury update: Dolphins WR returns to 'SNF' after back issue

Miami Dolphins and former Alabama football wide receiver Jaylen Waddle exited Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles with a back injury in the first half but returned late in the third quarter.

NBC's "Sunday Night Football" broadcast showed Waddle yelling in pain as he walked gingerly to the locker room. It also reported that Miami placed an electric heating pad on his back during portions of the game to help with his pain.

Waddle is one of 12 former Alabama players active for Sunday's game. Before exiting, the former sixth overall pick in 2021 had two receptions for 24 yards from quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, his Crimson Tide teammate.
