Jason Sudeikis and Hannah Waddingham earned a round of applause for their cover of the pop hit "Shallow," and it was all for a good cause.

The two Ted Lasso stars came together over the weekend in Kansas City, Missouri for the 2023 Thundergong! charity event benefitting amputees in need.

"There's nobody I would rather sing this song with," Sudeikis said to his pal Will Forte before the band began to play one of the songs from the 2018 romance/musical, A Star Is Born, originally performed by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper.

After Sudeikis, 48, wrapped up Cooper's verse, Forte went to jump into Gaga's part but was abruptly cut off by Waddingham, 49, who surprised the crowd as she appeared from backstage.

To the crowd's enjoyment, the duo continued on, and Forte, 53, eventually made his way off of the stage.

While Sudeikis may not be known for his singing abilities, Waddingham certainly is as she has earned three Olivier Award nominations for her work in musicals including Spamalot, A Little Night Music and Kiss Me Kate.

The star-studded event was presented by Steps of Faith and held at the Uptown Theater on Saturday, Nov. 11, it also featured appearances from Brendan Hunt, Sam Richardson and Nathaniel Rateliff.

According to Steps of Faith Foundation's website, the Thundergong! event has raised around $2.1 million over the last six years, since its inception in 2017.

But this year's pinball-themed musical event was wildly successful, bringing in a total close to $3 million worth of donations that support the nonprofit's efforts by providing prosthetic care, hope, and comfort to amputees in need, as noted by the organization.
