Eventually, Tom Brady will have to hang up his cleats. Thankfully for NFL fans everywhere, that day isn’t today though.

On Monday, Tampa Bay Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht was on The Rich Eisen Show to discuss several topics. At one point during the show, Eisen asked Licht if the team’s recent contract extension for Brady felt like the legendary quarterback’s last deal.

Licht didn’t want to share private information about his discussions with Brady, although he did admit that he doesn’t see the veteran quarterback slowing down anytime soon.

“None. I want to keep most of those conversations private, but no inkling at all,” Licht told Eisen. “I told him if he wants to play until he’s 50 and he still feels like he can play, then he can play until he’s 50.”

This is the second time this month alone that Licht said Brady can play as long as he wants.

“Tom’s gonna play as long as Tom wants to play,” Licht told reporters last week. “He’s earned that right.”

The Buccaneers selected Florida quarterback Kyle Trask as a potential successor to Brady in this year’s draft. However, that all depends on Trask’s development and Brady’s future production.

If Brady continues to play at an elite level, Tampa Bay won’t have to worry about making a quarterback change.
