Janet Jackson wants Florida to get ‘together again’ for 3 concerts. How to get tickets

Janet Jackson has two of her defining albums celebrating anniversaries this year, so it seems fitting two concert dates in South Florida is just about right to properly acknowledge these recordings.

Jackson, 56, had previously announced an April 14, 2023, date at Hard Rock Live at the Seminole Hotel and Casino near Hollywood as the opening date of her tour. This week she added a second date, April 16. Both shows at the 7,000-seat venue go on sale at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16, through LiveNation.com.

Florida fans have a third chance to catch Jackson as the third date on her tour is scheduled for April 19 at Orlando’s Amway Center.

Jackson’s 37-date Together Again tour, which draws its name from a hit single from her October 1997 album, “The Velvet Rope” that celebrated its 25th anniversary recently with an expanded reissue, features Ludacris in the opening slot. The tour will also spotlight music from “janet.” that was released in May 1993, 30 years ago. Of course, plenty of songs in her setlist will include hits drawn from her “Control,” “Rhythm Nation 1814” and “All for You” albums.

Jackson’s career opened with a soft launch nearly 50 years ago when she was 7, with a performance alongside her brother Randy at the MGM Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. Boomers may recall her supporting role as the Evans’ family neighbor Penny on the CBS Norman Lear sitcom, “Good Times,” that she joined in its fifth season in 1977.

Jackson, who hasn’t toured in four years, teased Together Again with the customary “can’t wait to see all of you” message to her fans via a promotional clip on her social media accounts on Thursday. But word has it she will include some new music on the tour.

Tour presenter Live Nation did not reveal ticket prices and Ticketmaster prices fluctuate by demand. So though it seems the range of prices falls in the $70 to $400 range expect to pay more for prime seats.
