James Bond actress Léa Seydoux's new movie The Beast has been given a UK release date.

The film, which features Seydoux alongside 1917 actor George MacKay, will be released on April 19 in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

The Beast is set in a future that has been dominated by artificial intelligence, where Seydoux's character Gabrielle seeks to purify her DNA by revisiting her past lives. As part of that process, she reconnects with MacKay's Louis, a previous lover with whom she had a romance that transcends time and space.

Unfortunately, human emotions are seen as a threat to this future world, and Gabrielle can't shake the feeling that something terrible is about to happen.

The film is said to not only explore the issues of AI, but also "the persistent phenomena of incel culture", according to the synopsis.

Seydoux famously starred in the last two of Daniel Craig's Bond films, she teased that her character Madeleine Swann could possibly return, even though the titular spy himself is dead.

"I'm not dead. It was James who died, not Madeleine. So, who knows? Maybe I'll be back," she said.

"If we're serious for a moment, Madeleine drives away with her daughter right at the end because James has saved them. There'll be a new Bond because Daniel's Bond died but who's to say that Madeleine won't be back?"

It's possible that the producers would want to create a brand-new continuity in which Bond is still alive, so it might be unlikely that Madeleine will be back.

Still, the actress has got plenty on her plate, with a major role in the upcoming Dune: Part Two and Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding sequel.
