Euphoria star Jacob Elordi, whose breakout role was in Netflix's The Kissing Booth trilogy, has called the movies "ridiculous".

After starring as teen heartthrob Noah in the popular 2018 Netflix rom-com The Kissing Booth, Elordi went on to reprise the role in both sequels.

Speaking to GQ, Elordi, who stars as Elvis in Sofia Coppola's biopic Priscilla, opened up about the movies that made him famous, claiming that starring as Noah made him miserable.

"I didn't want to make those movies before I made those movies," he said. "Those movies are ridiculous. They're not universal. They're an escape."

When asked if taking on the role of Noah fit into a "one for them, one for me" ethos, which is commonplace in Hollywood, Elordi said that way of thinking is a "trap".

"That one's a trap as well. Because it can become 15 for them, none for you. You have no original ideas and you're dead inside. So it's a fine dance," Elordi said.

"My 'one for them,' I’ve done it," he added of The Kissing Booth trilogy, seemingly ruling out a return to the role for a fourth movie.

Describing his career now, Elordi said: "That's probably why I'm so happy, because now judgment and comments on the internet and stuff, it's… I'm in the movie now."

Meanwhile, Elordi recently opened up about how he prepared for his role as Elvis Presley in Priscilla revealing that he "ate a lot of bacon" to get into character.

"I ate a lot of bacon," he said. "I averaged like a pound of bacon a day. It's not that noticeable because I'm quite long, but I was the biggest I've ever been."

The Kissing Booth trilogy is available on Netflix. Priscilla is in cinemas now in the US and opens with preview screenings from December 26 in the UK, ahead of a wider release on January 1, 2024.
