Fast-food chains love Florida.

The latest to target the Sunshine State is Jack in the Box. The California-based restaurant company announced that it plans to open franchises in several Florida cities.

Jack in the Box is best known for its burgers. But in 1993, the company was at the center of a deadly E. coli outbreak in the 1990s.

The company’s menu also includes chicken and breakfast.

Here’s what to know about Jack in the Box’s plans:

Where is the fast-food chain opening in Florida?

Two cities highlighted: The company hasn’t said specifically where it plans to open, but is touting Tampa and Orlando to prospective franchisees.

Quote: “We’re looking for franchise partners to expand our footprint across the United States of America and this includes Florida,” the company says.

Cities on the list: The company also said its franchise development team is interested in the following markets: Miami, Miami Gardens, Hialeah, Pembroke Pines, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Miramar, Davie, Planation, Sunrise, Pompano Beach, Deerfield Beach, Coral Springs, Jacksonville, Port St. Lucie, Deltona, Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Gainesville, Palm Bay, St. Petersburg, West Palm Beach, Clearwater and Lakeland.

Real estate: And as if to emphasize that restaurants are as much about property and sites as about food, the company says this about the Florida cities: “These cities meet most of our site requirements and should be a good fit for Jack in the Box based on our Real Estate Planning Software.”
