Jack Antonoff shares cute pic of Taylor Swift trying on his signature lenses: 'TTPD Forever'

It's safe to say Jack Antonoff adores Taylor Swift.

Shortly after the pop star released her 11th studio album, “The Tortured Poets Department" on April 19, Antonoff took to Instagram to share some cute behind-the-scenes pics of Swift making the album.

In the last slide, he posted a photo of Swift wearing his signature glasses.

He penned the caption, “TTPD is here. My favorite work we have made together / made in the most wild unhinged moment. all the pain distilled in this album and all the laughter that came out of it. will hold those days in the studio forever as the most inspiring of my life. i adore this album and the way it came together. ttpd FOREVER.”

The record producer, who also serves as the lead singer of the rock band Bleachers, has worked with Swift on many songs throughout her career, including her 2022 album, "Midnights," which won album of the year at the MTV Video Music Awards in September. They've also been friends for nearly a decade.

Antonoff spoke with Willie Geist on Sunday Sitdown last year about his working relationship and friendship with Swift.

Antonoff and Swift famously worked together on her 2017 bop “Getaway Car,” which was featured in her sixth studio album, “Reputation.”

In Swift’s Netflix film “Miss Americana,” she showed how she and Antonoff came up with the bridge of the song.

While mulling over some lyrics in the studio, Swift suddenly had a lightbulb moment when Antonoff suggested some lyrics that could work.

Once fans saw the moment in the film, they started sharing it on social media, causing it to go viral.

“That video is popular for the perfect reason,” Antonoff told Geist. “That is the only time in my life, from the million hours I’ve spent in studios that a camera was ever on ... when magic actually happened.”

“And she just had her iPhone on for whatever reason. And I think that’s why that video became so popular because it was real,” Antonoff explained.

He said that while he's had many experiences with the "crazy kinetic energy" that can occur when writing a song on the fly, it's "never" been captured on camera before.

“It was just a real moment, and I don’t know why her phone was on, but thank God it was,” he said.

As to the secret behind that "magic"? Antonoff said part of their collaborative songwriting success comes from time.

"I could quantify our relationship in very reductive ways about the things we agree on, the sounds we like, but the truth is we've just grown together," he said in the preview clip.

"I mean, she's put an amazing amount of belief in me, and it's powerful," he said.

He shared that while he already loved what he was doing in the music industry, it was Swift who told him, "You can produce this."

"And that relationship has gone on and on and on," he said.

Here's a look back at the friendship between Swift and Antonoff.

Swift asks Antonoff to produce one of her songs

Antonoff previously said that Swift was the first artist to trust him to produce a song.

"If you're a songwriter, you write songs, and that doesn't matter if people like them or not," Antonoff said in 2021 on “The Plug With Neil Griffiths” podcast. "... But if you're a producer, you kind of need someone to let you into the room."

He explained that working with Swift became "the thing that people needed to see on the resume." After, when he said he could produce a work, he said responses changed from "Who are you?" to "Sure!"

Antonoff and Swift's first collaboration occurred in 2013 when they co-wrote and produced the song "Sweeter Than Fiction" for the soundtrack of the British film "One Chance."

Antonoff helps write and produce Swift's '1989' album

Swift tapped Antonoff again to co-write and co-produce several songs on her album "1989," which was released on Oct. 27, 2014. (Her "Taylor's Version" re-recording of the album dropped exactly nine years later, on Oct. 27, 2023.)

The original album won best pop vocal album and album of the year at the 2016 Grammy Awards.

The following day, Antonoff shared a candid photo on Instagram that showed Swift hugging him at the ceremony.

"My favorite pic from last night. we wrote and worked on 1989 in the tiniest spaces. a lot of time over voice notes and e mail --- it really encourages me that those small dream like ideas between friends can become album of the year. winning a grammy for records you make the same way you did when u were a kid is important to me," he wrote.
