Ja Morant game winner: Memphis Grizzlies star is back with buzzer-beating shot in return from suspension

Ja Morant is back, and the Memphis Grizzlies are too.

Morant's spinning layup as time expired gave Memphis a 115-113 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans in his return from a 25-game suspension on Tuesday at the Smoothie King Center.

"I'm a dog," Morant told TNT's Stephanie Ready after the game. "... Basketball is my life, what I love. It's therapeutic for me, and I'm excited to be back."

Ja Morant did this tonight: 34 points, 8 assists, 6 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 block on 12-of-24 shooting and 10-of-12 from the free throw line in 35 minutes.

Morant played in a competitive game for the first time since April 28, when the Grizzlies exited the 2022-23 playoffs in a Game 6 loss to the Lakers.
