Once upon a time, I used to drink tap water and not think twice. Then, a few years back, my husband bought a ZeroWater 6-Cup Water Filter Pitcher.

While tap water is generally safe to drink, thanks to regulations in place, there are some factors to consider that may make people cautious about drinking it. First, tap water may contain trace amounts of contaminants, such as heavy metals, pesticides, or industrial pollutants, which could be a concern for those with certain health conditions or weakened immune systems. Plus, the taste and odor of tap water varies, and you might simply have a more enjoyable drinking experience (and thus, drink more water—a boon for your health!) if you’re sipping on filtered H2O.

I’m not exactly a water sommelier, but I’ve come to enjoy the crisp, clean taste of ZeroWater’s filtered water so much that I can always detect the difference when I drink tap water now or even when it’s time to change filters and the magical system isn’t doing it’s job at 100 percent capacity.

The five-stage water filter is top-notch and, per an independent lab, removes 99.6 percent of total dissolved solids, which is twice more than the leading brand. The filter is also NSF-certified, which means the product is regulated under strict standards and needs to go through frequent testing and re-testing. So buyers can rest assured that ZeroWater does, in fact, reduce lead and other heavy metals.

I’m not the only one who’s enamored by this product, though. One satisfied Amazon customer switched over to ZeroWater after using Brita for over 10 years. “I decided to switch. Wow….and you can taste the difference,” the shopper continued. “Makes GREAT tasting water,” claimed another happy shopper. They added, “Cannot believe how good my tap water tastes” and found the removable tester “super handy and reassuring.”

The light blue and white design is also aesthetically pleasing, and I love that this water pitcher is slim enough to fit in my refrigerator door (which is a compact fridge; thanks, Manhattan real estate!). Plus, as someone who once struggled to stay hydrated, sipping on pure, tasty water makes all the difference in inspiring me to drink more water daily. Now, it’s time to say bottoms up to more H2O during this beastly hot summer.

Whether you need to increase your daily water intake or need a large quantity of filtered water for cooking, there’s a water filter suitable to your lifestyle needs. See more options below.
