Iowa State's Audi Crooks nearly breaks Cyclones' single-game scoring record in NCAA victory
Iowa State women's basketball star Audi Crooks nearly broke the Cyclones' single-game scoring record in a 40-point outburst Friday against Maryland in an NCAA Tournament game.
Crooks' dominant night led the Cyclones to an improbable, 93-86 comeback victory in the round-of-64 game in Stanford, Calif.
Crooks finished two points shy of Iowa State's single-game scoring record. She tied the school's single-game record for field goals. And she set an NCAA Tournament record for most points by a Big 12 women's basketball player. Brittney Griner of Baylor held the previous record.
