Iowa State women's basketball's 2024-25 non-conference schedule announced

The Iowa State women’s basketball team enters the upcoming 2024-25 season with a ton of experience and high expectations.

The Cyclones will begin trying to reach those expectations when they officially kick off the regular season on Nov. 4 against Chicago State at Hilton Coliseum.

Iowa State fans got a glimpse of what the upcoming campaign will look like with the programming releasing its non-conference schedule on Friday.

The schedule includes nine home games and multiple heavy hitters. Some of the biggest games on the schedule, including contests against South Carolina and UConn, were already known. But the remainder of it has now taken shape.

Iowa State, which returns the bulk of its roster from a team that went to the Big 12 Tournament title game and the NCAA Tournament, will unofficially begin the season with an exhibition game against Central College on Oct. 30 at Hilton Coliseum. That marks the start of five straight home games for the Cyclones.

Iowa State’s first road game will be a Nov. 20 trip to Northern Iowa. The Cyclones then host Drake on Nov. 24.

Bill Fennelly's squad will take on the reigning national champions from South Carolina as part of the Fort Myers Tip-Off on Nov. 28. In-state rival Iowa, which also played in the national championship game, will host Iowa State on Dec. 11.

The Cyclones wrap up their non-conference schedule by taking on perennial powerhouse UConn as part of the Basketball Hall of Fame Women’s Showcase on Dec. 17 at Uncasville, Connecticut.
