Iowa State football unveils new uniforms for 2024-25 season

What many thought was an April Fools' Day prank a few weeks ago has quickly become reality for Iowa State football fans, as the program unveiled new uniforms on Wednesday afternoon.

The three new uniform sets all sported a similar look, with cardinal, white and black base colors, stripes on the shoulder, the Jack Trice stripes on the upper-left shoulder and 'Iowa State' written across the upper chest area. The helmets all feature the block I logo with State written across the I, the primary logo of Iowa State.

This is yet another uniform change for the Cyclones, who have seen various alternate uniforms over the past few seasons but not a full overhaul since the 2018 campaign. Wednesday's release marks the return of the shoulder stripes for the first time since 2017. The new uniforms also feature the option to use gold pants again.

Previously, the Cyclones' base jerseys were cardinal with gold numbers, white with cardinal numbers and golf outline, as well as the all-black alternates with grey trim. The school also had the Jack Trice uniform, a cardinal base uniform with grey stripes and tan pants. The helmet was often the most-praised in that set, with 'Ames' stamped across the side of the helmet.

The Cyclones' debut in these new uniforms is set to be on Aug. 31 against North Dakota.
