Iowa State’s All-Big 12 point guard Tamin Lipsey will miss at least part of summer workouts after having a minor shoulder procedure, according to a source with direct knowledge of the situation.

He waited until after the season to have a shoulder scope on the shoulder he injured during the Cyclones’ 87-72 loss at BYU in January.

Iowa State's Tamin Lipsey had a minor, routine procedure on his left shoulder. He will miss at least a portion of summer workouts, according to a source close to the team.

The minor offseason routine procedure became public Wednesday night, when the former Ames High School star posted a picture on X, formerly Twitter, at a local restaurant where his high school jersey will now hang. In the photo, Lipsey’s left shoulder was in a sling. The procedure isn't expected to hinder Lipsey's junior season.

Iowa State, which advanced to last season’s Sweet 16, is generally considered a top 5 team to start next season.
