Iowa man gets federal sentence for production, possession of child pornography

A Waukee man was sentenced to 25 years in federal prison Monday for production and possession of child pornography.

Michael Alan Jagim, 52, of Waukee, used secret recording devices to create and produce child pornography, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office, Southern District of Iowa.

On Dec. 14, 2021, the attorney's office received a tip that led law enforcement to search Jagim's residence, where they found and seized electronic devices containing evidence.

"A forensic analysis of these devices found multiple videos of child sex abuse material, including videos created by Jagim, for a total of 3,620 images," the release said.

Along with his 25-year sentence, Jagim also was ordered to pay $28,123 in victim restitution. Upon completion of his prison term, he will serve 10 years of supervised release, the release said. There is no parole in the federal system.

Jagim was prosecuted as part of the U.S. Department of Justice’s "Project Safe Childhood."
