Investigators continue to probe fatal crash at Green-Jackson Township border
GREEN ‒ The Summit County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a traffic crash that killed Rachel N. Dye of New Franklin on July 28.
The 24-year-old was a passenger in the front seat of black 2005 Chevrolet Silverado when it collided with a black 2020 Jeep Compass at Arlington Avenue and Mount Pleasant Street NW at 12:43 p.m. The intersection is the border between Green and Jackson Township.

The crash report from the sheriff's office says that the Silverado was southbound on Arlington when it struck the Compass, which was westbound on Mount Pleasant.
The driver of the Compass, Aleka E. Campbell, 31, of Akron, failed to yield the right-of-way, going through the intersection after first stopping at the stop sign, according to the crash report.
The Compass overturned, traveled through the intersection and hit a utility pole on the corner.

The Silverado was driven by Kyle W. McCune, 23, of Massillon. Green Fire Department medics took him to Aultman Hospital in Canton for treatment of possible injury.
The same agency took Campbell to the Summa Health System Akron Campus. She was suspected of having minor injury.
Green Fire Department medics took Dye to the Summa Health System Akron Campus, where she died from her injuries at 1:40 p.m., the Summit County Medical Examiner's Office said.
No charge had been filed in connection with the collision as of Tuesday afternoon.
