Robert Pattinson and Suki Waterhouse quietly confirmed they welcomed their first child when they were photographed walking in Los Angeles with a stroller this week. While the couple has not shared any statements about their new addition, a source spoke to Us Weekly about their transition into parenthood.
“They’re enjoying their privacy [and adjusting to their] ‘new normal,’” the source said.
Overall, the insider added that “they couldn’t be happier.” It has largely been just the two of them, as “a few of their close family members have come to see the baby” so far. Waterhouse and Pattinson are fine with that.
The private couple’s own relationship has only grown closer through this transition. “Rob has seen a whole other side of Suki since becoming a mother,” the source said. “He has so much respect for Suki, and she’s adjusted to motherhood like a total natural.”
As they settle more into parenthood, Waterhouse and Pattinson are also looking forward to planning their wedding. “They can’t wait for the next chapter when they make things official and tie the knot,” the source said.
Waterhouse sparked engagement speculation when she was photographed wearing a toi et moi ring during her pregnancy. A source confirmed the couple’s engagement to People at the end of December. “They are engaged,” the source said then. “They both want to be married. It’s important for them.”
A source spoke to People shortly after news of their pregnancy broke in November. “They are ready for a child, and looking forward to becoming parents,” they said. “Even though they are both professionals who work a great deal, this is something they want. They know their lives will change, and they are excited.”
